What changed in 2025-2026
Ley 6/2025, Ley 7/2026 and the single register.
- Ley 6/2025, the Canary Islands holiday rental law, has been in force since 13 December 2025, and was amended by Ley 7/2026 from 15 August 2026. If you already have a licence, read what changes for you.
- New holiday homes can only be authorised where the local planning rules expressly allow it: requirements for a new licence.
- Since 3 April 2025, opening a holiday home in a building with a homeowners' association requires the association's express approval: what the association can decide.
